What is the J-1 Visa?The J-1 visa is a non-immigrant visa issued by the United States to individuals approved to participate in work & study-based exchange visitor programs. These programs are designed to promote cultural exchange, allowing participants to gain experience, enhance their skills, or further their education in the U.S., and then bring that knowledge back to their home countries.

How do I know if I am eligible for the J-1 Visa?It's quite simple to assess eligibility for the J-1 visa program. Generally, you can apply if you meet ONE of the criteria below: You are enrolled in a post secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR You have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant experience in the hospitality industry (outside of the United States) OR You have 5 years recent relevant work experience in the hospitality (outside of the United States)

How much does the visa cost?As there are different programs, contact us to get the most accurate cost for the process.

Once I pay for the program, is the visa guaranteed?No, paying for the program does not guarantee you will have your visa approved. Besides meeting the necessary criteria, you must be approved in the visa interview at the US Consulate that you apply for the interview.

Do you only offer hospitality and culinary programs?At this moment our focus is solely in hospitality and culinary programs. But we're looking into broadening our professional areas.

Is there any age limit?Not really. As this is an educational training program, we understand that candidates over the age of 30 have a difficult time justifying that they will need additional career training, which is a requirement for the J-1 visa program.

What documents do I need to provide to qualify for the visa?You have to provide evidence in form of documentation that you fall into one of the 3 categories below: You are enrolled in a post secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR You have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant experience in the hospitality industry (outside of the United States) OR You have 5 years recent relevant work experience in the hospitality (outside of the United States)

Do I need experience?Most employers require prior work experience in the department to which you are applying. This experience could be from a full-time job or an internship, ideally lasting six months or more. If you have no work experience, you might still qualify for a placement, so you're still encouraged to apply.

How long does the process take for a J-1 intern/trainee to arrive?Normally, it can take from 3 to 6 months depending from where the candidate applied from. However, our agile process aims to send interns/trainees at around 3 months maximum.

Will I interview the candidates?Yes, the final decision to hire an intern and/or trainee is yours. We pre-qualify candidates to ensure they fit the placement requirements.

Where do you recruit candidates from?We recruit globally and partner with hotel and culinary schools from all over the globe. Rest assured we'll have candidates from virtually all regions in the world.

How many interns/trainees can the company host?How many interns/trainees can the company host? The number is based on the number of full-time US employees you currently employ. Once we have this information we can determine the number of J-1's you can host.

What's Included?Finding a placement within a Host Organization Obtaining a DS-2019 form through an accredited Sponsor Interview and preparation Administrative costs related to the J-1 Visa process Medical Insurance Advisory during the whole program 24-hour emergency support

Payment and cancelation policiesThe cost of the Embassy and SEVIS fees are not included and are paid directly to the US Government. The Administrative Fee is due upon applying for the program. If the candidate withdraws before the Program Fee is paid, the Administrative Fee will not be refunded. The Program Fee is due once the offer letter is signed by the Host Organization (HO), payable within 3 business days. If the candidate withdraws from the program before the DS-2019 is shipped, but after the HO has signed the offer, the candidate is entitled to a 65% refund of the total paid amount. If the candidate withdraws from the program after the DS-2019 is shipped, they will be entitled to a 50% refund ONLY if providing: - Proof of visa denial after a 1st and 2nd interview (Visa Denial Letter). - The original copy of the DS-2019. In any other case, no refund will be awarded to the candidate.
